When I upgraded last year to my new infinity system - I kept the old Aprilaire 2200 Media filter cabinet.
Before getting the new infinity system - I started buying my replacement filters from an online place.

I have played around with the different filters they have and currently have a Merv 12 unit.
I have started a maintenance contract that would include regular replacement filters. I assume my contractor will just supply a plain old Merv 8 filter replacement (I can ask).
Question for the Pro's - do you think it is best if I just keep getting these preassembled Merv 12 filters and replacing them myself? Or give them to contractor to install when he shows up twice a year.
As I understand it – Merv 12 is going to do a lot better job at air cleaning than a plain Merv 8 replacement.
Of course as long as performance and static are not impacted – which they do not appear to have been in the last 6 months.
