I'm new in the facilites department at a tech company in California. One of our 3 controls systems uses BACtalk. The workstation with Alterton's Visuallogic installed on it does not have Visio installed, so Visuallogic won't run. Can I install basic Visio 2003, or does it require Visio Technical?
Also, any basic hints or tricks would be appreciated. I'm familiar with Andover Continuum (text-based) programming, and this looks very different.
Thanks.

you got a nice learning curve ahead of you. if you don't have the control companies viso program files then having visio will not help you. if you suck the code back from the controllers it will load in a numerical block sequence and not the flow diagram that it was written in and it will not make sense. you can look at the code thru the VLC DDC screen if your password let's you get there.
send a email to davemccomsey@hotmail.com and i'll send you a programmers guide.

If the computer has visual logic installed you need to install Visio inorder to use VL for programming.

If you are going to install Visio, you must first install Visio then install BacTalk.
Most Air handler programs are edited version of standard programs found in the standard/ddc folder in both Alerton format and Visio.
If you can get the original programs from the contractor and that contractor used Visio to program and DOCUMENT sequence of operations, life gets much easier.
Hope this helps
Sincerely
