I am looking at the either the Trane TCONT803A or the Trane TCONT802A thermostats for my Trane XV90-XL14i system.
I know the 803A has humidity control and the 802A doesn't.
Can I take advantage of the 803A humidity control with my single stage XL14i condenser?
Or would the 802A be better for my application?
Would the comfort-R feature of the XV90 work properly with either stat?
Thanks

The 803's humidity control is to overcool the space. I'd ask for the Vision Pro IAQ which can hook to the control board of the XV to slow the blower to dehumidify.

Or if you aren't in a real humid area, just use the 802 and make sure the dealer turns on Comfort-R. That's all I need.

I agree with Bald. just go with the 802, and I have same version in the VP line and it did a good job of humidity control with Comfort-R.

A question for the Trane Pros/dealers.

Why is Trane so obviously behind in sophisticated controls as compared to the Infinity Controls. Even some of the aftermarket controls are superior to Trane's Middle Ages stats. Just don't understand. Too much Honeywell influence?
