I am going to purchase a new furnace for my home. I reside in Southern New York State, not in New York City.

The types of furnaces I am considering purchasing has 80% efficiency, two stage, with or without variable speed blower. Central air conditioning is NOT part of the system.

I am interested in the following models: Trane LX TUD 120R954K, Trane LX TUD120R960K, Trane VX TUD120R9V5K, and Lennox G60V Model G60UHV 60C-110

I do not understand anything about the purchase of a furnace and am requesting assistance in making a decision. I would appreciate input as to what Brand and Model is recommended and the reasons why one is better than the other.

I am also interested in input whether the blower be with or without vaiable speed and the reasons why. If there is an need for any further information I will be glad to furnish it.

Thank you

The benefits of a 2-stage variable speed direct vent furnace far outweigh the additional cost of this unit versus a standard 80% furnace. Forget about Trane or Lennox or York..... buy from a qualified contractor whom you trust and let them offer you the equipment best suited for your application

For your climate you may want to consider a 90+ furnace
