Following controversy over its purchase of around 1.2 billion bullets in the last six months alone, the Department of Homeland Security has put out a new solicitation for over 200 million more rounds of ammunition, some of which are designated to be used by snipers.

A series of new solicitations posted on the FedBizOpps website show that the DHS is looking to purchase 200 million rounds of .223 rifle ammunition over the next four years, as well as 176,000 rounds of .308 caliber 168 grain hollow point boat tail (HPBT) rounds in addition to 25,000 rounds of blank .308 caliber bullets. The specifications suggest use by well trained snipers.

this is on top of the 450 million 40cal bullets they ordered last year.

Ummm, where did I put my body armor

Jmac ...most people are oblivious (by design) or too afraid to engage in such topics. Says something doesn't it?

the Social Security office bought thousands of rounds of ammo the other day.
they said it was for target practice for their enforcement officers.
(yes, the SS office has officers)

i'm my opinion it is time to enact strict gun control.
the government should be forbidden to own guns.
local law enforcement should go back to 6-shot .38

I can see Pres. Obama as a peace lover man. I don't think he's really preparing for a war since his primary concern are his people and his candidacy.
