Looking for a job around west Tennessee, Jackson area preferrably. Been looking and the only guys really hiring for commercial is CMS. Just now got into mid-career, got laid-off, and now job outlook is looking pitiful. Any suggestions?

non-union, and as far as I was told SM Lawrence isn't hiring. I do have a guy here local that is in the union that said he would help me out as far as joining but i haven't been able to get in contact with him.

bd....Are you still looking? When you say mid-career, what does that total? Do you think you could stand a Memphis commute? I know of a position about to open up here, I'd hire you myself, but we are dead full for the winter.

Yes I'm, still looking daily. So you are from Memphis? By Mid-Career, I've been in the field for about two years. On the Job training, all hands on experience. Got most of my own tools. Meter, hand tools, gauges, some other goodies, etc. The commute from here to Memphis isnt really that far, but it would be nice if I could make the commute in a company truck, or at least have the gas paid for. My email is bdclark2@charter.net. If you are ever looking to hire, remember me. By the way who is it that you know is hiring?

bd, the position i mentioned before is going to require at least 8 years, but if you can use a laptop, there is a place that was looking, they do a lot of factory warranty and start-ups. 901-545-4244. Give them a try, I dont think it really matters where you live, as long as the jobs are reachable. Also might want to try Lee company out of Nashville, they hire guy's in your area from time to time to service national accounts. We are a union shop, and the hall would want to put you back to ground zero, and start you as an apprentice. This would be a severe cut in pay.

Sorry buddy, the 411 operator may have gave me the wrong number. Automation controls was the listing i was trying to find. It may be under Gorham Shaffler co. also.

The field manager at Lee Company is out of his office until this next Tuesday, but I have emailed him, and I cant find Gorham on the net, I'll try the yellow pages. Thank you again.

I also hear that they are a good company to work for. I was going to call them myself for up here in Northern Ohio.
