If the system is as old as what you are implying and your friend doesn't want to spend the money for the board and you assume its the *relay* just wire the motor to strait power. Let it run all the time *shrugs*

Or just hardwire a relay or sequencer to control the fan. Not difficult for a tech with 2yrs experience.

Make sure the motor is fastened in its mount properly, this happend to me and came back with a board. It came to find out it was loose from its bracket, and was turning slightly, pinching the wires leaving the motor making it cut off

You mentioned that it was a heat pump, so i can assume your motor is 240v. Being a heat pump, i can also conclude that there will be a call for high speed fan in both heaing and cooling mode. Simply wire G to the coil of a relay with one normally open contact and of coarse the common wire on the other side of the coil. Wire L1 direct to your common wire on the motor. Then break L2 with the relay's switch. However, be sure to check that you do in fact get a call from the thermostat for fan in heat mode. If not you will need a relay with another set of contacts that are normally closed. If your heat pump has heating elements, place a jumper wire from M1 on your heat sequencer to one side of the normally closed contact and then attach your low speed fan wire to the other side of that contact. Hope this helps.:grin2:

If there is no fan call on heat you probably have the wrong thermostat...
Every HP stat I've seen calls for fan on heat.

Depending upon how many blower speeds are used you can use either a 90370 or 90380 blower relay.

perhaps the thermostat is HP capable but needs to be re-programmed......
