View Full Version : CMS in N/C OR S/C
Anyone in North or South Carolina know anything about a company named CMS and what they are like to work for.
They have a web site (Florida) but not a whole lot on techs and offerings.

I too am interested in this company (CMS Mechanical), but have not heard a lot about them. I see their trucks in a lot of areas of NC. Their website does not tell a lot about how many techs they have, but they seem to operate in quite a few southern states.

Thanks Cracker. Any particulars or examples of what made their management bad? Bad management at their corporate or out in the field? Thanks in advance for your response.

Unfortunately I worked for them for 2 years, it was good money, bunch of hours but the management really sucked. All they were about was how much money you could generate out of your truck and their bonus program was CMS bucks that you could spend at their End of Year party. My biggest problem with them is that they hire nothing but true to life parts changers that don't know the trade and they congradulate them every chance they get. It was not the company for me!

I've known Mike @ CMS for many years... while no co. is perfect, you should make up your own mind. Certainly the mere fact they have stayed in business & grown in good years & bad is a testimonial of fortitude.
Often times as companies grow & market presures come to play a company has to change to meet the demands of the market place and retain quality employes.
Ask current employes - it'll probably be less bias.

I have to agree with coolguy, make up your own mind. No matter what company you go to, there are things you dislike. Only you can decide whether you dislike what they offer.
Interview with them and if you don't like what they have to say, or offer, at least you made up your own mind.
I work for Nextech, which is a branch of CMS, and I have been here almost two years. CMS has techs across the south, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Arkansas, with brother companies (Nextech) in Texas, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania.
Again, agreeing with coolguy;
Certainly the mere fact they have stayed in business & grown in good years & bad is a testimonial of fortitude. How can you know all the intricacies of a company in one week?
Ask current employees - it'll probably be less bias.

Down right liar's.....You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand, That when they say one thing and do another.
I don't, And will not start a flame war about them.
If you have the time and money try them out, I would not recomend, Investing all your resource's there, with out a way out.
I have seen how they treat new hires in sw florida, Since my time there, 14 people have left, that I know of, most of them was hired and can here, only to leave with in 30 day's, To other company's.
You may have it good at your branch,But not all branches are the same.

I understand that you may have had a bad experience with them, but again, anyone looking at hiring into any company should judge that company on there own merits, not by what someone they never met, that only worked there for a week said.
