The TSA and Vermont Maple syrup

Got home opened our bags and one had a little note "Notice of Baggage Inspection". It goes on to say the TSA searched my bag to protect America.

I bought some syrup in glass maple leaf bottles, one was missing? So I figure either they needed to taste it to protect America or they figured that was their cut. :D

At least they left me the rest.

This whole deal at the airports is fricking ridiculous already. As if.

On my way thru the airport they took my $40 bottle of lotion, my lip glosses, and my lighters. He said you can check your carry on in as luggage. I told him keep it, it ain't worth the trouble.

This summer when I went to Kansas, I got home and found that same note - that TSA had inspected my bag. I think they saw on the X-ray that I had packed the power inverter for my laptop inside, and probably didn't like the looks of the wires comming off of it.

I had it with me on the way there, in my carry on, without any issues. They seem to be stricter in the midwest than they are in CT or RI. When I have flown before, I have only had to take off my shoes and get patted down in the midwest. I have never had to do it flying out of CT or RI.
