I vote for Chi-town. I'll help, too. Keep in mind, if we have it here, we're gonna hafta draw straws to see who goes and bails Dices' as*s out of Boys Town up on Halsted.

Hel*l, now that I think about it, Dice could be there now. Tells wifey he's going to the "convention", tells us he can't go to the "convention" because he has to work, Bingo!! Dice on Halsted, wearing his rainbow shorts.

Why not organize one? I think it would be great if we had several regional HVAC-Talk conventions each year. So far, the conventions have been hosted by members living in the Eastern part of the country. Even though some members, like Spotts, have traveled long distances to attend, I can understand it being a bit of an expense and time consuming event for some.

The phenomenum is that people with only HVAC in common, and from different areas of the trade to boot, come together to socialize in a very informal atmosphere over a weekend. It can happen anywhere, at any time, as many times and places that will get HVAC-Talk members together.

How about one of the members hosting a Southern convention and one of you left coasters hosting a West Coast convention? It can work. It just takes one person to get it started and I guarantee you it will take off on its own year after year.

Along with the totally social, member sponsored conventions, I am looking forward to HVAC-Talk conventions happening on weekends after Comfortech Shows. What a great way to combine enhancing HVAC knowledge with socializing with other great HVAC-Talk members.

I see great things on the horizon. If you think you may want to host an HVAC-Talk convention in the West or South, give those of us who have hosted them in the East a shout and we will be happy to help you out with any planning.

HVAC-Talk conventions to date have been hosted by;

#1 Diceman in Pittsburgh
#2 rfertech and RoBoTeq in Baltimore
#3 benncool in Bennington, VT

Future HVAC-Talk conventions will be hosted by;

#4 selfemployed in Winston/Salem NC
#5 spotts somewhere in Colorado

There is no limit to what mentally unstable people can do when they are brought together as a group.

Shut up Robo.............:D
There can only be one convnention, you know that.
If someone thinks one should be somewhere than get on the list to host one and quit your whining, it's getting pathetic already.

By the way Tinner.............FZ and me had a long talk about you. We tried to combine forces to see if there was any way to help you. Bottom line............go jump off a bridge.

If Spotts can't do it in 2009, I will.

Welcome to fly over country.

Then we need to vote.

To me, part of the fun of the convention is seeing a place that you have never been before.

I like big cities but I wouldn't want to have the convention in a big city every year. That is why I am sort of against a Comfortech convention. After wards we would all get in the banquet room of some hotel and have our choice of chicken or beef. One or two $5. beers and we call it a night. "Ho Hum, Ive been to St.Louis."

Sorry but smacking a crab with a hammer or eating a freedom fry sandwich served on a paper towel is the way to see places I've never been. The only way to do stuff like that is to have someone from that town to host the convention. Because he/she knows the fun things to do.

I even ate bull nuts ONE time. But that don't make me a cowboy.:D

If every one knows where the convention is going to be ahead of time then you can save a few bucks to fly there. One time you might drive the next time you might have to fly. The big thing is to get some action out west. This is not a "you guys ought to" event.

With this group in Bennington, I never heard one complaint. Everyone just made thier own fun and nobody waited to be taken care of.

Places I have never been to but want to. Seatle, Iowa, No.& So. Dakota, Mississippi, Alabama, Alaska, Most places in Canada. I'll think of other places but you guys should have a convention in one of these places.:D I'll be there.
