iLon e2 setup from PC with iLon e3 soft

Hello

Before to do experiements.
Can I do iLon e2 setup and configuration with Lonmaker PC with iLon e3 software installed?
Or I must instal or uninstall some soft? I had both, e2 and e3 installation CD-s, but I had no "iLon to-e3" update soft.

How you did e2 update to last SP or it is not needed?

look under your c:\lonworks\ilon100

all images, updates, etc. are there sorted by version e2 (1.xx), e3 (3.xx), etc.

Read the "readme" File

BACKUP your ilon files.
ftp appropriate images/updates/etc. into ilon, reboot ilon, you are in business.

Yes, its seems silple.
I download 3.02 files to e2 (1.10) and get problem. No more time setup is possible. I get error like: time is null or object not available. I did not upgrade bootrom, its still 1.10.

I suggest you update everything: bootrom and any/all SPs for that version.

Hi Jomi,
after you downloaded the 3.02 image to your e2 iLON and reboot did you clear the cash of your browser as well? If you forget that the old Setup pages are still cashed and do not work with your iLON until your cashing time expired or until you change the IP address of the iLON.

Also as described in the "readme" document if you decide to update the bootrom, ftp the bootrom file into root directory of ilon, then remotely telnet into ilon to invoke the update process.
