A Johnson rep told us that many of our sites are going to have an emphasis on BACNET,and that it may be a good thing to learn.
1)I thought that all our Johnson Metasys and Facilitator controls were all based on bacnet
2)All of the points were Bacnet objects, with properties, srvices and methods
Are the NAE , DX-9100, UNT and the N31 Bacnet based controllers.???
Is it true that BACNET cannot automatically communicate
with LON controllers on the same bus.
Thank you.

Johnson controllers are a proprietary protocol, N2. The NAE is capable of interfacing to a BACnet network. It will do LON also. BACnet controllers cannot be put on a LON network directly. A gateway must be used.

If I connected to an NAE with the Internet Explorer interface, and there were Bacnet devices connected through a gateway
Would this be transparent to me
Would they appear on the IE window as folders the same way the N2 devices appear.
Is Bacnet truly interoperable regardless of what vendor manufacturers the control ??
The last six months, My company began specifying less Johnson
and more Carrier ,Honeywell and T.C.I.
Mostly political from what I hear,
Would Bacnet controls allow Johnson a chance to appear on the same
control bus with Carrier.
I like Jihnson Controls Never had many problems with them
Thank You

(yes, for viewing. if you create user views or looking at a graphic) functionality however probably will vary by each vendors interpretation of "BacNet" you will see the points THEY want to be exposed and at what level of access).

(yes if you setup NAE up to talk Bacnet, the learn feature works pretty well)

(funny, but NO)

(Wow! what a surprise)

(No, Johnson N2 will have to be on its own trunk, and the bacnet/carrier must be intergrated via NAE BacNet feature.
I like Jihnson Controls Never had many problems with them
Thank You
Hope this helps a little.
