View Full Version : BOHN help
So I have this unit on top of a local Bank. Bohn model number BCA082AC S/N - D0H0367
Unit has two compressors
Copeland CRM3-0400-PF5 But i'm guessing that it is a TF5
Unit seems to be AC only with electric heat.
Can anyone tell me what the tonnage is? Is this a refrigeration unit? I have asked the local Bohn dealer and he's telling me it doesn't exist.
Thanks in advance.

I found a Bohn catalog (Bulletin 525.1) from 1990 that indicates that this is an 8 ton straight cool package A/C with the electric and heat reclaim option.
The BCA designates Bohn A/C. The 08 is 8 nominal tons. The 2 after the 08 is for 208/230v-3ph-60hz. The AC at the end tells you that it has electric strip heat and a heat reclaim coil.
I don't believe Bohn makes these units any more. They used to provide them for convenience stores with package A/C and additional condensing units for refrigeration like walk-in coolers and freezers.
The original compresor would have been a CRM-0400-TF5 but it wouldn't surprise me if somebody stuck a PFV in there and added a run cap and a Kick Start. :(

put the three phase compressor back in, lower start amps and the electric load isnt even any more, could(slightly) cause problems

This is Turtle.
the CRM3-0440-TF5 is a high temp compressor 3 phase at high temp. and will put out 49k High Temp. to 53K Air Cond. btu's at different applications. It may not exist but Copland has it on their website and listed there.
Now I don't see a ending of PF5 but only TF5. now i would suppect changing the [P] to a [T] would change very little.
