Hi...I'm being driven crazy. We have been in business for 18 years. We will comply of course, but I haven't received any paperwork. It was signed in to law in 2007 but??? I have been trying to find out what I need but can't get any answers. There is a 6 month "grandfathering" in clause for those working in the industry for 2 or more yrs but did it start? No one in Trenton knows anything. Basically I'm asking how to apply or even if you can...yet. Thanks.

Moved to Tech to Tech forum.
Easy answer..........you need to nothing at this point in time. The law states it goes into affect 360 days after the governing board is placed. Guess what......no governing board has ever been appointed. It was a move in the right direction, but NJ has no money. And the current governor is not going to spend money on a board.
We are stuck with plumbers, oil companies, and any fly by night company advertising and trying to do everything that falls under HVAC/R.

I've heard HVAC is going to fall under plumbing licenses, which I think will be a horrible mistake, some areas overlap in both fields but both trades already have a lot of material to be covered to be licensed in, let alone to combine them both under one license.
