Hey, is anybody using the new tool bags called the Veto Pro Pak. These bags look awesome, especially the LC model. 5 year warranty, looks like what I've been waiting for. A litte on the pricey side @ $100, but it looks like it is worth it. Anyone using these bags? Would love some feedback!

I have one and love it! It is money well spent. It is well designed and built. I am able to carry more tools and keep far better organized that I was with my old tool bag. Get one!

Seems like all the "good" techs in our city have 1. I just bought 1 a few weeks ago, I hate the previous style I bought (open style basket new wave thingy) falls over, tools fall out, tools lost.... the veto pro LC is sweet, weight is not as much as I expected, likely due to that wide cushioned shoulder strap.

1 tech I know though recently had to bring his back because the zipper broke after 2 years, but received a new one on the spot from the wholesaler.
Not that it has anything to do with it..........but he was married about 2 years ago, and might have abnormal zipper habits.

It would be a nice bag if it had a Plastic storage tray for electrical connectors like my CLC bag has.

Well, I don't want to dish out the money for one, but I am sick of wearing my others bags out. On the tune of one per year. It would be nice to have something last five years.

The reason you loose tools is not because your bag "falls" over. Actually a better question is how do you loose tools? I cant recal seeing you with any in almot 5 years :)

Great bag, just have to learn to limit your load in them or a co-worker may TRY to pick it up one day for you and slip a disk.

I would love to see a close up pic of one filled with hvac tools.

my clc is the best I have found yet im still not satisfied. I feel like the clc dose not have enugh organization, when carrying it fully loaded on the shoulder strap it sits to far from the body puting to mutch stress on you back for super long hikes in big buildings and what drives me nuts is many times i feel like im playing spin the bottle.

I have some ideas about slaping together sections of toolbags that i dident like to try to make the best hvac bag but if the veto is the real deal then I'll be happy to put out the money for a bag that i'll finaly be happy with.

so is there any pics of the pockets close up I've seen the sight and just cant figure out how well it will hold what I carry.

I try to keep the weight down as much as possable but I know some that load it right up. I have every screw driver you can think of, in the first pic I even have in the red case on its side a 12 piece set of electrical drivers. I could put my Fluke 187 in it if I wanted (sometimes I just put it ontop the tools and close the zipper) I have a few small parts cases as seen in the second pic that fit in nicely between the plastic bottom edge and the pockets. Plus all the little zipper pockets in the bag (6 in total) are stuffed with everything from jumpers, small tape measure, Static wrist straps, mini torch's ect ect ect) The bag works for me.

thanks for the pic. I think i like it better than my clc other than it dosent have a dedicated parts organizer. im still not shure if its exactly for me what i have in mind is a bag that i can grab almost any tool i need without playing spin the bottle. then agin im not shure its posible.

One thing on the bag is that on one side it has a big red Veto lable on the flap. I have all my screw drivers on the red tag side and all the pliers/wrenched on the other, With a quick glance I know where to go. The one thing I would chage would be the depth of the zipper pockets on the inside and out. I would like to have a little more room in them. As for the parts oganizers the two in the pic cost me no more than $2 each and they fit enought odds and ends for me. Its nice that you have room between the tools and the plastic bottom to fill with stuff and the tool pockets are sewn the the bottom so you dont have parts or small tools going under the pockets into never see again land.

Now if they only included a sherpa to carry the bag for you.....

True , I have used my tools more in my house than the field for several years but now that I have purchased the Veto I am 1000% more organized and ready for those moments when I cannot "dialatech" :D or mutter "if ya wan't it done right" blah, blah, blah.

Bryan, you should showcase that ready to roll cart for supermarket service. I think I will get a similar item, much better than jamming everything into a shopping cart on every service call.

You know those kleins are just crap now. Most of them im my pouch are older drivers in the range of 10 years old, I have a few in the 2 year range and they are just crap. The Wiha drivers I have are really a nice set. The Anti-cam out ridges work really well.

I switched to Wiha about 5 years ago, and never looked back.

Klein has just disappointed me since they came out with those "Journeyman 2000" junk handles. Strippers and Diagonals wearing out inside of 6 months, etc.

The Wihas are the finest. I have that same set, with the blue handles, as beaters. Get their NonSlip Microfinish Grips, and you won't even want to use those Kleins for prying and chiseling.

I just bought the LC on Friday, then quickly went back and traded it for the XL when I realized I couldn't fit as much as my old bag.

I love it so far. The only complaint is a lack of a parts organizer. I guess I have to find a small organizer for myself and put it in.

I fit my 18v cordless in one side with my lesser used tools and all my hand tools that I use all the time are in the other side.

I have EVERYTHING from my previous bag in it, the bag is technically heavier than my old bag, but it feels lighter because it is not so wide and the shoulder strap is better. I find I fit through doorways now with it on my hip. The last bag was a Husky electrician bag which is about 14" square. I am 6'2" 280lbs, so I'm husky as well. being able to have it on my shoulder when I go through roof hatches is nice as well.

I could rant for hours, but I have to go to work.

I've had an XL for 2 years now. It has a spot for everything and everything in its spot. It really helps me more organized than I usually am. There's also not enough room for excess parts, etc, like with a bucket so it doesn't get heavier at an alarming pace. And the plastic organizers? $2.69 fishing tackle boxes at Wal-Mart - one for terminals, one for wirenuts and one for small hardware.

If its all about how much you can stuff in a bag why dont you guys just buy a Hockey bag, some have wheels and I am sure you can jam half your truck into it.

Personally I limit what I carry because I dont want to carry 50lbs around. What the hell do I need all that stuff for? 95% of the time I know what I am going to need, I bring what I need and leave what I dont, thats why I have a work truck. Are people afraid of having to take a trip out to the truck???? What a disaster that would be. :)

I look at what I carry in my bag in the same way I look at what I carry for a trip in the back-country, pack it up and look at what you HONESTLY need. limit it to the basics and necessities. If I dont use a tool for a few months it gets pulled from the bag and put into the tool box in the truck. Each to your own, but I would like to still have a functioning spine in 10 years.

I’m with Bryan on this one I don’t have the veto yet still trying out a bag I slapped together ill try to get pics up some day but I carry 25-30lb I try to make it so I can take care of almost any situation but theirs no way I'm going to carry more weight than 35lb as my primary tool bag. I find with what I carry I rarely ever go back to the truck for a tool although I might pick up a tool or two when I'm at the truck grabbing a part.

I also can’t imagine roping up or trying to fit a Platt through a roof hatch or into an attic.

I got one. It's a good bag. But.

I put too much in it. And it gets heavy. I bought it to put more in. But now, it was the wrong decision.

I have been having some pain, dull pain every now and then now in my shoulder.

I am on a mission to down size to a well though out, small tool arsenal, light, not bulky.

There is some leather square and rectangle tool pouches that Ideal makes. Real popular with sparky's. I had one for about 6 months before the Veto. And it was small. Which is why I went big. But now. Small, well considered small is simply better.

Then. Next year I will change my mind again. :D

I have been watching this thread, and thinking $100 to $125 for a tool bag is just to expensive for me. Today I realized that I was kind of ashamed of how my CLC bag was. Unorganized, stuff just wasn't easily accessable, accidently cut a fluke meter probe this week with my wire strippers while pulling something out of it. I stopped by one of the stores around here to check out the Veto XL, and was sold on it. Great bag, just moved all my stuff into it, including my 18v drill. Thanks for the heads up about this, I have been looking at the stuff at the supply houses and home depot lately and none of the stuff there seemed much better than the CLC that I have been using for 3 yrs now. I'm still using a Klein Tools bag with a thick leather bottom with steel coasters for feet. I like the metal hinges and leather straps instead of zippers. It has good organization and a lot of space. Did I mention I can bench three hundred pounds?

this morning I caught my lineman’s that were on the outside of my clc bag on the suicide ladder this was the last straw for one of the d rings and it let loose after going back down the ladder to retrieve my tools and marvel that nothing but my inspection mirror was broken I took my lunch to pick up the veto XL all I can say is WOW fully loaded with my normal arsenal it weighs in at 8lbs more than the clc but feels lighter on the shoulder and in the hand to top it off I fit through doors and halls much better with it than the clc.

Time will tell but this might just be worth the $120

Thats why I got out of that Da@# racket. You can never fix a copier so that is works to every user's expectations. Do a major PM on Fri, they run a gazillion copies over the weekend like 2 pm cycles worth with no breakdowns, but what do you hear Monday morning that POS is down again! Weren't you just out there? One bad thing on the veto is that there is no electrical tape loop.:o

I cut one off of an old bag and bolted it right next to the tape measure clip took about 2 min.:D I also took the separation stitching out of the pin holder on the opposite side from the tape measure one of those pockets holds my 3watt mini mag and the other holds my 19-in-1 screwdriver makes my 2 primary tools accessible without any thought or unzipping of the bag.

wow .........I guess Im just old fashion, I just have a tool belt.

My original one was just an electrican pouch with some pretty big pocket surounded by a lot of little ones.

I used that until the leather tore in so many places it fell apart. The one I replaced it with wasnt quite as good and it doesnt show anywhere nere as much wear.

Also on the belt is a decent camera size zipper pouch that has assorted wires ,screws , fuses , steel wool, drill bits, drivers , needles , screws , and a lot more.

I dont beleive in carrying a ton of every type of screwdriver possible, there in the truck if I need them but on a common basis .......... I just dont see the need carrying them in.

Once I go in with the basics to see what Im dealing with, I go out and grab what tools I need including replacement parts.
