I seem to have issues using the search function.
I can never find anything with it.
There must be a trick to it.
For example try finding Supco surge suppresion.
NADA>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
tried supco, found one mention, tried surge found no mentions.
Whats the trick?

Found lots of surges, not exactly what I thought I was looking for...hurricanes etc.

I did a search for a not so common word and got nothing although I know it is on the site. Then I searched for Dad and got a bunch of returns. Weird

If I search for "Supco surge suppresion" (without the quotes), I get one result, this thread.
I then searched for "Mcquay ALS200 Chiller" which appears on here
http://hvac-talk.com/vbb/showthread.php?1138991-Mcquay-ALS200-Chiller but got nothing.

Not really sure what is going on. Could be a problem with indexes not being fully built since the upgrade. I will check again tomorrow.

I have initiated a rebuild of the search index. Given the number of posts this forum has (2,686,728), the index rebuild could take as long as 20 hours before it is fully updated, based on numbers I’ve seen from other sites.

The indexing has completed.
The search for "Mcquay ALS200 Chiller" now returns 3 results. The search for "Supco surge suppresion" still only returns this thread. Are we sure those words all occur in a post?

Got 14 post for Supco surge

I found no string with all three words in it.

I noticed ya'll are misspelling "suppression". I don't know if it matters...

You're right, should only be 1 p and 2 s' that'll teach me for copying and pasting, and yes it would matter the search function does not allow for incorrect spelling.
A search for "Supco surge supression" returns a valid result.
I'm calling this one good.

Not to beat a dead horse, but, shouldn't that be 2 p's and 2 s' ? I double checked my dictionary and that's what it shows.
