Whats a good tool to measure air speed out of the outlet ducts for central AC systems. Looking for something reasonably affordable.

Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

Why do you want to measure the air speed(velocity)??

inadequate airspeed can lead to a stall and then a spin.

LOL....good one watercop.
i assume he wants to make sure each register in the house is distributing equally. Affordable tool, ...is there such a thing???

a 'VELOMETER' will do.

I would be more conserned with the static pressure, and CFM if those are right then the velocity will surely follow

but that senseless answer does not help the poster any.
He wants to measure the air speed at the outlets.
That is why I told him to get an VELOMETER.

If he knows the AK of his registers he can calculate the velocity then.

But a volumeter would make it easier and faster.

What's the chances of knowing the ak ,and how to use it.Plus the velocity thru the grille is often very uneven from side to side or front to back.

How about an airflow meter?

I use the Krestel 4100 for airflow temp, humidity, velocity. real nice and affordable, i think.

I do have a manometer as well for those static press.
