alright, I recently bought and moved into a new home in Charlotte, NC. I have had problems since day 1 with my hvac system (cooling). The original contractor has been out twice to "fix" problems. The problems are:
1. inefficient cooling of home, and a/c unit does not cycle (runs constantly)
2. all equipment appears to be compatible (I can't find exact info for the coil and the condenser unit)
3. water is coming from both the primary and secondary (emergency) condensate lines, and the pan is still filling with water
4. I don't know if this really matters but, the furnace, evaporator coil and the air condensor are all three different brands

Here is what I have:
1. Furnace: Carrier - 58STA070-12112
2. Coil: ADP - HE322236D145B1620AP
3. A/C: Heil - NAC03AKC3

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what my course of action should be? As I stated above, I think all three are compatable (meaning, I think all three are 3-ton equivalent), but I've heard that you should not mix-match equipment from different manufacturers!

I know that the overflow pan filling up is really non-related to the system operating properly, but I put it in as an indication that everything is probably not installed 100% correctly.

Thanks for any advice you can pass along!

ADP is low end Carrier if I'm not mistaken. Believe me if I am I will be corrected! The Heil and Carrier is a mis-match. As far as course of action talk to a attorney laws vary state to state.

New house, you most likly signed off on any recourse you have. Could be an over-flow switch in the drain pan . Call the contractor back again and again and again. They have to get it right just by playing the odds.

Installing different brands on a new house??? Sounds Mickey-Mouse right there. As far as probs go...

1.Hard to dial in efficiency with a mismatched system. There's no telling how many btuh's it's putting out.

2.you need to know for sure.

3. Basic problem, missed plug or poorly piped/trapped condensate.

4. Usually one brand is used.
