View Full Version : Central AC just stopped working?

Okay today my AC went off, the fan in basement wont work, and my outside ac wont work. changed my thermostat, changed the switch.
is it power not getting to it, the compressor outside is real hot.
any suggestion. thanks

you are 0 for 2 shut it off and call for service.

Can some one tell me how old is this AC>
Model: ECC036FNA, am wonderring if am due for one.
it looks old.

Anybody in CT area am in waterbury, know a good service place.
or can do service?

if you changed that thermostat without turning off that red switch to the furnace there is a good chance u bornt out your step down transformer + the new t-stat or if it has a board with out a fuse in it, well if i were you i would call a tech
hmmmmm inside blower does not go on that is one problem.

outside compressor is hot and it does not go on that is another problem.
or could be 2 in 1 from 24v no I Think not that simple

turn it off and call a tech before you do more damage

We just love do it yourself types. They often create new problems and just increase the cost of the service call. First the technician has to contend with the problem the customer caused then contend with the primary problem.
