is a TXV valve worth the cost.
what does it do and why should i get one.

most 13 seer & up systems have them allready installed on the coil. dont settle for less. it regulates refrigerant flow through the evaporator by sensing load conditions. the compressor will love it too. why is this a question of if you should get one? we dont install any equipment without. not an option to our customers

Good compressor protection and a little more efficiency, protection being the key to me. How old? 12+ years I wouldn't bother. JMO.

I would not install one on a old system, I would make sure my next system has one.
