lennox A/C cycling

We have a lennox unit, and it seems to be cycling i guess. The fan runs fine, but when it is time for the unit to kick on it makes this loud buzzing sound numerous times in a row before it actually turns on. Could this be the compressor?

Yes it could be. Time to have it checked out, before something serious goes wrong with it.
