What is a good set of long allen wrenches for removing fan blades. Broke one of mine today. Had a set that was in a tube with a handle can't find them now. I want something I can put in my toolbag.

I have a set of long T handle Malcos. The larger sizes are tough, but like any allen wrench when it comes to the smaller sizes it pays to keep a few extra on hand.

I usually buy individual long L handles ones at the local bolt and screw supply.

I've used these for years. The set I have right now has lasted for more than 15 years now.

The bondhus T handles are the best ones I've used. They have solid steel handles welded on and rubber coated, unfortunately a set of them is a lot heavier than they really need to be.

Not sure what you're willing to pay for a set but Wera stainless steel allen wrenches are top-notch. I prefer using stainless bits and a miniratchet instead of allen wrenches but bits are VERY easy to lose and you can't just use a magnet to help find them.

Bits are nice because you can hammer them in place, can't really do that with L-handles. Then you can use a ratchet with extensions for those hard to get at places.

Wera and bondhus make good Allen wrenches. Just stay away from craftsman unless you like going to sears after every time you use them to get a new set under warranty.... If they have any in stock... Wiha also makes a nice set of Allen wrenches.
