Morning, I have a Carrier 24ABA324A003001A unit matched with an Ari V3S12414 Coil. It isn't cooling the house at all. We just bought the house a week and a half ago. We have a home warranty. They sent a guy Mon. June 18. He said we have the wrong metering piston, that it should be a TXV. Emails from the warranty people say he called Carrier and they said it is the wrong metering device. Warranty company also stated they called Carrier and got same info. Checked with distributor and Carrier myself and they tell me that is not the problem. Warranty people sent a different company yesterday and he says it's the wrong coil. Anybody familiar with this? Thanks much!

If it was me, I would call in a service company in my area and tell them nothing. All you have to do is tell them the system is not cooing. Let them come in and confirm / find out what needs to be done to fix the issue(s).

It may cost you some money, but a second matching opinion helps out a lot.

I am not a fan of warranty company's selection of contractors. I have gone behind two of them, and I have not been impressed with them at all.

One guy told the homeowner that they do not make R 22 capacitors anymore, and because of that they need a new system.

Another one could not fix an inline float switch (overflow protection), they told the customer that the system was dead and it needed to be replaced.

warranty companies have a batch of "changers" that give low prices for the work they do...
get a quality service company to tell you what is actually wrong.

..........R 22 capacitors...........

Does this mean I have to use a R410A capacitor on a R410A system? :eek2:

If it's home warranty let them replace the system if you can afford the deductible.

Thanks guys,
I will get a Carrier guy to hopefully be able to get this figured out. I appreciate the help.
