Last night was miserable.
System started to blow hot (non-cold) air.
Temperature in Georgia, like most of county, has been hot (over 90 degrees) for the past week. System has practically run all day for the past month. 2 story house on a basement with dual units/zones. 2 tons down and 2.5 tons up.
Could not get upstaits temp below 80 degress during the day, but at night system was "ice" cold (thermostat read 68 degrees). Unit serving upstairs (Amana 2.5 ton) has stopped cooling. Outdoor condesor fan has stopped running. The run capacitor is not swollen or leaking, and the condensor fan blades turn freely. I'm thinking of changing (discharge THEN replace) the capacitor.
Any suggestions or help?
