SHINER - A father caught a man molesting his 4-year-old daughter and beat him to death Saturday, the Lavaca County sheriff said.

Sheriff Micah Harmon said the death occurred about 3:45 p.m. in a residence along County Road 302 near Shiner.

The name of the deceased man, a 47-year-old from Gonzales, was not released because his relatives have not been notified, Harmon said. And authorities have not identified the girl nor her father. The Advocate's policy is to not print the names of sexual assault victims.

No arrests have yet been made in the case.

Harmon said the resident of the home caught the Gonzales man attempting to molest his daughter and attempted to stop him. In the process, Harmon said, the resident physically struck the Gonzales man in the head several times, killing him.

The girl was taken to DeTar Hospital Navarro in Victoria for an examination.

Harmon said the case remains under investigation. He said he did not know what charges, if any, would be filed.

The Gonzales man's body was taken to Travis County for an autopsy. He was declared dead at the scene by Alene Lyons, the justice of the peace, Precinct 4, in Lavaca County.

The father has expressed remorse he had no thought that the blows to the head would kill the pervert (my word not his). The Sherriff stated the case would be sent to the DA without charges and it would be sent to the Grand Jury with no charge recommendation. DON'T mess with our children in TEXAS!!!!

If I were the father, I probably would have done the same thing.

Here is another solution: Beat him until he is paralyzed from the waist down... then get a conviction for child molestation.
When the inmates find out what he is in for... they will literally torture him until he wishes he had been beaten to death.

Problem is... perps on the outside would not see and feel the pain of the perp on the inside. Gotta straighten out the jail-house media on this one... <grin>

That said I find it hard to believe that any one would be remorseful after taking a low life off the face of the earth.

The majority of children who are molested or sexually abused in this country and probably the rest of the world are abused by either a family member or a friend of the family.

Go to a family reunion or other big family gathering ... maybe invite a few close friends over. Take plenty of pictures....put these pictures on a wall.....

Some of the people in those pictures have probably abused a child.....

You shouldnt let your kids out of your sight even at some kind of gathering like this with friends and family.

Yes, I would have done the same thing......beat this guy to death and then I probably would have mutilated his remains so even his poor old momma couldnt look at him again......

But we also need to learn from this.....and the lesson is to not let your kids out of your sight even with family...even with friends of the family.

They should have lynched the guy.... that would have been a more appropriate killing...... beat him severely.... remove his penis....and then hang him from a tree and build a fire under him.

Thats what they did back in the good old days.

I believe that would also be the right thing to do in a religious way. Before the beat down you pray and ask the lord to please intervene as he sees fit......then proceed with beating, the castration and the burning alive....till dead.......lol

As much as Corny and I disagree on things... This is one I agree with.

There should be swift and STRICT and FINAL punishment for sexually abusing kids.

The problem with our legal system to day is: They are more interested in CONTROLLING the arrest, conviction, and punishment of crime; than they are with actually punishing the guilty.

And yes, most child abuse happens at the hands of family members or close friends of family.

That's true just please don't try and blame the parents all the time. No one can keep their kids in there sight 24/7. When I was growing up until I had to go to 1st grade I played in the woods all day and only came home for lunch and supper. Those were different times I know. Thank you very much.
