based upon my current experience, get the extended warranty when buying a dehumidifier!

I have two, the 70ppd $$ Kenmore ran 3y, base charge is 30% of cost! The 50ppd ran 2, it was still in warranty & I bought more warranty 2 times now.

The 1986 Whirlpool ran 10y, or more! [ I used to help repair that production line = one first task in 1984, was for the double sheet protector = detecting that 2 blanks did not try to feed into the chassis bender.]

1 yr everything, 5 years on moving parts, and cost is less than my ATM limit (dunno if its ok to say they are only $200), but I think I am willing to roll the dice vs PITA warranty issues. This is a product that is going to get cheaper and maybe better over time, why lock into and old one, besides how long is an extended warranty offered?
