View Full Version : Robo would you?
On the GSC condensers with the scroll compressor. Would you put a hard start kit on them or not? Thanks, jmb

If I were using a TXV for metering; yes. Otherwise I would only put start components on if there were a problem. Every tech has their own preference on this and all arguments seem to be valid.

i don't know if its the type of tx valves lennox uses or not, but i have never put a start kit on a scroll compressor in 16 yrs of using them.
Sorry Robo. Yes it will have a TXV.

With using a TXV, I would install a hard start. I keep hearing that its not needed with a scroll, but my experiences in the field state differently. I get several calls a week on scrolls that hum but won't sing and the start components does the trick every time.
