what's the difference between the 9010A and the 9020A???
I'm using the inficon right now, but it's really starting to tick me off when it automatically shuts itself off, and i forgot to write down the weight. (can you disable that feature?) plus, having to connect and disconnect every time you use it.

The 9020a is a 200lb. max the 9010a is 110lb. max. I've only owned the 9010a, I like it just fine. When I dump small tanks into a big one I just have to keep track as I go.
I think an auto off on a scale is ridiculous, but I do waste a few 9volts every year by forgetting to turn it off.

Whats wrong with having auto off on the inficon scale?
Does it auto zero when you turn it on or something like that?

it times out too soon as far as I'm concerned....and yes, auto zeros.
I was reading some posts about the TIF's, talking about the 9010 being a bit lower quality than the 9020a. I've used 9010's quite a bit and have been happy with them, thinkin about another scale and was considering the "upgrade" if there were any real benefits.....

The 9010 and 9010a are different. I never had a quality issue with the 9010a........ the 9010 was good for nothing :.02:

Yeah, the 9010 was inaccurate as hell if it was even like 0.0001 degrees out of level, lol.
That issue was fixed with the 9010a though.

This is going back a ways but if I remember right he biggest problem I had with the 9010's was the weight would just keep climbing.
AFAIK 9010 and 9010a are only similar in model number nomenclature.

the 9010a are nice, compact, light and accurate, bought mine 5 years ago, the only problem is it eats batteries when not in use, nothing a toggle switch cant fix.

I noticed the same thing.
When I had one I would disconnect the battery when not using it but would just turn it around away from the connections.
Not sure if it was turning on in the case or just draining them down being off but disconnecting did the trick

Good afternoon!
I can help you on both your complaints with the INFICON Scale.
We make a case that you can store he unit in with out having disconnect the handpiece (part nuber 713-703-G1). Also I do have the procedure for disabiling the auto-shutoff feature but it does depend on what version software you have in the hand piece. Please contact us via our 800 number in our profile, or just shoot us an e-mail. We look forward to hearing from you!
