One thing i may never understand is why some companies will promise the rainbow to entice somebody and then when the tech finds out it was all just a big lie and quits the company management gets upset. I figure it goes to reason that if you tell someone something and then take it away or never even give it that naturally that "someone" aint gonna be happy. A GOOD SERVICE TECH CAN FIND ANOTHER JOB!!

And what's with these companies offering 16-20/hour(commericial companies), i mean a tech can make that much or more doing residential!!!

I don't want to get into wage comparisons, thats been beat to death on here many times along with, union vs non-union & OEM vs independent.
One thing a manager or owner should NEVER do is make a deal he can't keep. NEVER!
A mngr that has a reputation for doing what he says he is going to do can usually retain help, & I'm not just talking about money.
Managers have to also be realistic about things, everything.
Wages, time off, tools he expects you to work with, the amount of hours it takes to do things, etc, etc, etc.

If somthing sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
You can't get somthing for nothing.
Where much is given, much is required.
Treat people the way you want to be treated.
And my personal favorite, it is what is.
I know that all sounds like a bunch of corny stuff your mom or dad told repeatedly growing up, but its all true.
If mngrs tried to live by some of these words their turnover rate would drop I'm sure.
Just keep it real!
