Question for anybody using these "recovery pliers". What kind of condition does it leave the copper section in? Does it collapse or damage the piece?
I wish to know if this is a useful tool for recovery and then covering the hole with a saddle valve and then proceeding with vac & charging.
TIA

it mashes the tube doesn't it?
I've never seen them used, but that's what I wound guess from looking at them.

t527ed is correct. They are only used to access a sealed system that does not have valves.
In addition, never leave tap a line valves on a system either. They are also temporary. They will leak.
