Our new Infinity heat pump (2 ton Infinity 16 with FE4 coil) is unbelievably good. The one fault I find with it is the cheesy "washable" fiberglass filter.

I'm going to place an order with dustless.com for the aftermarket filter I used on our old unit. Question: do I need to go through some setup procedure with the Infinity control to get it to recognize a new, slightly denser filter?
(I'm thinking the new product will affect the air flow and the system will interpret this as a dirty filter).

NO set up required. To tell it that is has a new filter, push the left side multi functions button for three seconds and select Filter and reset it. It will know there is a new filter and start counter from there.

one thing you need to know is some high restriction filters can cause too much restriction of airflow and end up costing you money or hurt your cooling effectiveness

also might be a good idea to get a HVAC contractor to check your static pressure to make sure you can use it without any negative effects

They have an Infinity.. can check static from the control.

Or, try the more restrictive filter and the control will complain at you ("change filter" all the time) if you're using something too restrictive.
