Interior Laundry Room Exhaust Fan

In Ontario, Canada...I am told that an interior laundry room (no windows) requires an exhaust fan that is ducted to the exterior of the house.

Is this because of possible moisture created from the washing machine ?

Note that the electric dryer will have an exhaust duct to the exterior of the house.

Moisture and chemicals from cleaning products is probably why.

While you are getting a fan installed, also have makeup air installed so the fan and the cloths drier are not sucking the conditioned air out of your house. ;)
