Hi! I'm new to the forums but have been reading and reading and we've made the decision to change out our system for a new one.

We've gotten a couple of quotes and would like to get another professional's opinion. One is a Trane setup and the other is a Carrier.

We're in Northern Virginia. Size of the house is approx. 2600 sqft - this is two floors and a submerged finished basement.

Current outdoor unit is a 3 ton. Not sure what the furnace is rated at but the house was built in 1994 and the system is from then as well.

Thanks in advance!

Carrier:

58CVA090-1-16 - Infinity gas furnace
24ANB736A003 - Infinity Air Conditioner
CNPVP3617ATA - Infinity Evaporator Coil
SYSTXCC - Infinity control Thermostat

Trane:

TUD2B100A9V3VB - XV80 Furnace
4TTX6036E1000A - XL16i
YTH9421C1002 - Visionpro IAQ thermostat
4TXCB036BC3HCB - R410A coil

Thanks second opinion. I've sent you an email.

Any opinion on what's been recommended to us? Both systems seem to be decent from what I've been reading. We feel comfortable with the contractors as well.

The xv80 furnace is not the best choice for the 16i due to the way trane regulates the airflow in low stage cool. The xc80 is has many more airflow options .also in virginia i would want a xc95 if possible and depending on your gas and electric prices maybe a dual fuel system
