I'm so glad I've found this site - reading these discussions has been really helpful. We're gearing up for a battle with our home warranty people (don't worry, they won't be doing any actual work, this just has to do with the cash settlement). I need to get a SEER rating for our ancient Carrier unit, model number Model # 565 BJ036-A. It's about 21 years old, I believe. I've looked over the Carrier website without success. Also, if you could point me to your references (Parsons manual?) so I can submit the documentation, that would be great.

Thanks in advance!

i have in my possession a 563S series condensing unit that was manufactured in 1965. wonder if the 565 series is close to that?

The 565 cube was from the 80s, saw one a few minutes ago. Green painted aluminum coil. The 563 from the 60s is totally different from the recent one. Bryant likes to reuse model numbers :( I know which one R2 has, they were tanks! Like the 567B that came after them.
