According to Lennox literature an indoor evap C14-41-1FF is a "3 ton". Buy my question is what does the 41 mean? 41,000 btus?

yes. Way back when, a 3 ton might have been more like 41K. Now they are more like 33K :D

Now Steve, don't even THINK of reusing that relic :D
