4 years ago the Democrat controlled House set up some mirrors, turned on the smoke machines, and talked about how they "saved" student loans. their speeches were amplified by their allies in the media.
the Democrats congratulated themselves on a job well done, and talked about how their boys take care of business.
i stumbled across a report that told the true story of what they passed.
(as usual, my post was ignored)
once i scanned the report of facts and ignored all the BS, i found that they RAISED student loans ...as follows...
year #1) 1/2 percent
year #2) 1/2 percent
year #3) 1/2 percent
year #4) 1/2 percent
year #5) 3 percent
for a total of 5 percent over 5 years.
well guess what?
year 4 is over and students about to reap the benefits of a Democrat controlled House, as their student loans are about to double.
as usual, both the Democrats and Republicans aren't focused at the problems at-hand.
the Republicans are talking about some special gift for women, no one talks about the history or the main issue.
where's the media reporting the facts?

The media has their collective noses inserted so far up into Dear Leader's rectum, that they couldn't smell the truth if it hit them......They may get back to you after they wash up. But don't hold your breath...

Got a link wolfie?
All I'm seeing from your post is half a cent in the dollar increase for the first 4 years then 3 cents in the dollar in year 5 to be spread over 5 years.
Of course without a link to find out what BS you filtered out for us your post is meaningless.
Fancy wasting money on education.

my original post on this thread was flawed.
the Democrats decreased student loan rates and told everyone they decreased them by 5%.
this was only a partial truth because of the way they did it.
year #1) 1/2 percent (decrease)
year #2) 1/2 percent
year #3) 1/2 percent
year #4) 1/2 percent
year #5) 3 percent
this was passed in 2007.
the rules were supposed to change before year #5.
year 5 is now and rates have dropped 3 percent.
now it's up to Obama and his crew to decide if they want to extend these cuts.
i don't think you will find a link telling the whole story, the media is still being misleading.
the media is actually slightly making Obama look bad by saying rates will "double"
when the students pulled these loans their rates were at 6 percent.
only in 2012 have they been around 3 percent.
(i don't know if this applies to only new loans or not)
either way it was a Democrat stunt with little value.
it would be great if Obama extended the loan rates and kept them around 3 percent.
what i do know is, government loans only cover a part.
the rest of the money is picked up by a regular bank and placed into a high interest account.
you can not pay off the high interest loan until you pay off the government loan.
therefor this loan rate decrease has little effect for any student.
