My sons and I purchase perhaps something on the order of 8 to 10 guns a year via several licensed dealers. The dealers know us well and tell us that the BATF regularly audits the dealers books and make life hell for them.

According to the local Cabellas firearm manager the BATF makes a great crime out of how the application is filled out. They (BATF) make an issue out of a missing comma in a date, a missing period after an initial in someone's name and even make a thing if any part of a signature extends below or beyond the printed line on the page.

So, while they (BATF) harras the dealer's over nonsense they themselves are busy trafficing in illegal guns. I met my state senator in person and had this discussion with him. My senator claims that many regulatory agencies simply make up their own rules and think they are in total charge of their area of regulation. Getting enough senators and representatives together on one page to do anything about it is next to impossible due to the refusal to cooperate with the other party on anything out of principle. If you are of the other party we refuse to agree with you period. Even if you make sense.

Come on guys, the US has been running guns to Countries as long as guns have been in North America. Sometimes it goes wrong as with Fast &Furious. There was also a little incident called the Iran/Contra gun smuggling fiasco. Colonel North made it big in the NRA because of it. Do you really want to See Eric running the NRA

I want Holder out of office for more reasons than F&F. If they can get him this way, I will settle for that.

Besides, what are we to do, just keep looking the other way at a wrong just because it was done before or is the norm?

This is the same man who said he won't prosecute black panthers for voter intimidation even after being caught on tape. A racist in the worst way. He has no business being in charge of anything........Kinda like Obama.

In government dealings.........yes, thats the norm.

Government doesnt look at it being wrong...... they weigh it being wrong against the possible good that might* come from it.

I remember years ago when folks were dying in aircraft incidents and it was found that the faa doesnt make the airlines or aircraft manufs repair every defect in an airplane when it is found out. What they do is weigh the costs of fixing the problem against just how many people will die as a result of the defect over a given amount of years.

They basicly say...... well.... its only going to cost us 300 lives max...estimated...over the next 15 years......so no repairs are neccesary.

Thats still 300 lives....but the government has a number......say 1000....over 15 years that it deems as the breaking point.

Thats how government operates...... right or wrong has no bearing.

They ought to stop the war on drugs, then guns and money would not be flowing into Mexico

Must have missed that.......while I've been looking for job growth.

Why does job growth have to do with anything. Look at positives. How many people have started working for theirself? How many are working off the books?

I'm sure the gun and ammo manufactureres are licking their chops over the prospect of Obama getting reelected. In 2009 it was almost impossible to find 9mm ammo and the price of guns went up

If this were true, agencies like the EPA and OSHA would have a minimal impact on our lives.

The company I work for is doing some mad hiring lately.... Of course the owner doesnt let the economy tell him how to run his business.

We were slow for a while.....laid two installers off for a month.... but things are hopping now.

Just the shop I work out of has three people in the last couple of months. 1 experienced technician...one so so......and a filter/belt changer.

All the plants we do work for seem to be doing ok also.

Of course this is just our area..... Im sure not all areas are doing as well.

When work gets slow you just got to go out and get some work. Its as simple as that. If you cant then maybe you need to find a job flipping burgers or something.
