Trane Gas Pack Issues....

1997 Trane YCC036 gas pack at a customers home is not firing. Board was replaced in 2010......inducer comes on, ignitor clicks, I can smell a poof of raw gas, tries three times then shuts down due to no flame.....any suggestions?

That unit should have a spark that lights the main burners. Remove the burners(shot burners) and clean them with a wire brush. Sounds like they might be stopped up with rust.

While you are there...go ahead and pull the top off and check the chamber. They start cracking after 10 years.

clean the burners & spuds, then see what happens

while we're at it....
what's the gas psi?
what's the inducer doing?
