Hello,
I own an American Standard Freedom 95 2 stage furnace, and recently the A/C stopped keeping up. And the air coming out of the vents isn't nearly as strong as it used to be. The system has been running great since installed 16 months ago, up until now.
The flashing light on the furnace is a constant red flash (slow flash). It doesn't speed up, or count to 3, 4, or 5 etc. Just a constant slow red flash.
I don't know why, but after searching the internet I'm not finding diagram that shows me what the flash codes are.

Can someone send me a link to the flash codes for this furnace? Or, tell me what this flash is inicating?

Thanks in advance

A list of the dignostic codes should be on a sticker somewhere on or in the unit. Typically the codes are for heating problems only. My educated guess is that slow constant flash means "normal with no call for heat" I would call a pro and have your A/C checked out. Good luck

check your thermostat. A steady slow flash indicates the machine has power and is waiting for a call for heat or cool.

1st: Check your system switch,-----> is it off?------->move the switch to Heat or cool

2: Move your Fan/on/auto switch to------> Fan ON, does the air increase from the registers?

3: Check your filter, ------> when was the last time you changed your filter

4: if all that doesn't fix the problem, call the guys that maintain your equipment.....

you do have regular maintenance, right

NCHEAT - Thanks for the response. No, I looked all over the furnace, and even removed the cover to look for a flash code diagram. But all that is on the furnace is a wiring schematic inside cover. That would be nice if the slow flash is normal for A/C, but I don't want to pay a service call fee to find that out.

jmac00 - Thank you as well. Yes, moved all the t-stat controls around. Heat, cool, auto. Fan on, off, auto, etc. Nothing moves air more than anything else. The "off" fan setting definately turns the fan off though.
- Is the furnace "smart" enough to know that the filter needs changing? It's probably been 3 months since it's been changed, but I'm guessing. Will a dirty filter reduce airflow enough to not allow the A/C to keep up?
- No, the furnace is only 16 months old, so I haven't called the guys back for maintenance yet.

Also, does anybody have access to a diagram that lists what flash codes mean for this furnace? It would be helpful for the future as well.
