I'm on Cox broadband now. Used to be with Sprint but they merged with someone and became Embarqe.Internet service went right out the window. I use Com-Sat on my other PC but it's work only.Faster than SH*T but the corp. I work for covers it. It's about $87.00 a month to them. Don't know what joe-blo has to pay but I heard it costs about $600-$700 to get the service and dish installed. I went with Cox,cable's already here, so why not.Talk to Sprint and find out if your area was part of the merger. If not give them a try. They're always having promo deals.

i have a sprint wireless card in my laptop. it works pretty well it costs 60 a month. i can usually get a signal even in mechanical rooms. we went with sprint because we have nextels and it is all one bill. sprint owns nextel.

I've been using Nextel for years and have had their wireless card for about 2 years now... Just upgraded to the Sprint card, pretty happy with it....
And being on an unlimited usage plan with our cell phones the nextell card is the same.... unlimited use... about $60.00 a month
Although I must say my laptop being in such a poplulated area is usally piggy backing on some ones WIFI Broadband :-)
Luv having the internet with me thru the day I find it invaluable tool...
By the way for thos using thier laptops check out the Jotto Desk I luv mine...

i just got verizon wireless card. they say if your verizon cell phone gets a signal and works then the wireless card should also work. BULL. coverage in our area is very spotty and so far im very disappointed with this 60 a month poor performing investment.

People pay for wireless internet service?
Just get a wireless network card, and a couple of other minor items, and you will have wireless broadband almost anywhere for free in most cities. Just ask Payson about it. ;)

No kidding! Actually some cities are going to free city wide wifi... Our city (Portland) is going to that. Supposedly advertisers will pay the bill..

My laptop works downtown on the FREE service but it's easier to find open networks near any of the big casinos in town. I don't spend too much time roaming anyway with my job.Once on anyone of our properties,I can pretty much choose between any one of the ,at least, six lines for service.
