Rheem 2 speed a/c

Long day for my lead installer and a helper. I am in sales but helped all day, a little.

Got to the point where we plug in the dis-connect. Sparks flew from pull out and the a/c's circuit board had a nuclear melt down to say the least. Was wired correctly..

Ever had this before???

RARL maybe ? My bet is that it WASNT wired correctly. That is a communicating model that can be wired to a conventional control if care is taken. To the original question no I have not seen it.

Sounds like a direct short between both legs. Hard to say without seeing it.
