Hello. New to the forum and owner ofcourse of A.C. equipment. I have a little knowledge about H.V.A.C. I am coming to the you pros with hope that you will enlighten me.
I have a 1986 2.5 ton trane condensing unit that runs great. I have have a matching 2.5 ton Trane Airhandler (with piston 059 as a metering device). Not working so great. I am limited on funds at the moment and was wondering if it was possible to match my 2.5 ton Trane Condensing unit with a 1996 Bryant/ Carrier 3 ton Air Handler (TXV metering device)?
Thank you for any advice and input you can give me. I know its always better to match equipment but in the case of limited finances and knowing it might not be the most efficient system but is it theoretically possible to match the two and have it work fine as long as all the evacuation/ pressure testing/ start up and charging procedures/ wire sizing and breaker sizing are all ideal? thanks again. =)
