Being that the price of scrap copper is so high we thought that we would put our copper junk "out of sight and out of mind."
So the shop boys erected this lawn shed that we bought at HD. We even hooked up a 5 ton air conditioning system to keep it cool in the summer time.:D

5 tons for 96 square feet? Did you do a load calc on that? :D
A little bigger, and you could have parked the Element in there.

now that you pointed that out...it does look like a hack job...like someone said no heat load calculation done...over sized the unit (sales rep wanted extra$$ on commision)..no permit posted..tool (looks like a drill...most likely from harbor freight) left on top of ladder...ladder left at job site...trash for job not picked up...no disconect for the condensor...God only knows what kind of wireing job was done..and if correct breaker were used...duct work probly looks like some kid with adhd and some flex trashed the place..hack jobs like this make us newbees shake our head and mutter bad things about you old timers who insist on doing half arse work...maybe you should use the yellow pages next time and call a quality company to do your ac work :)

If we take the scrap down to the city we get more money for it .
unfortunately, the "city" is 45 miles away. Plus if you cut it up and separate the clean copper form the soldered fittings you get even more money.
This time of the year we don't have time for all of that. In the fall of the year we have a company golf and clam bake all paid with the scrap money. One night before hand we get together and have a few beers and pizza while we cut it up and sort it.
Then we have a pool to see who guesses the weight of the scrap correctly. Not only does the winner get the money but his name is engraved on the trophy for all time. (The copper cup)
The CU is a dead unit and is waiting to be cut up. :D We just thought it was funny to see the CU next to the new shed.

I don't even look at the copper my crew creates. Thats their buisness to do whatever they want with it. They just can't make a mess in my shed with it.
