Interesting perspective, my question is - since we have done health care the same way for the past 50 years why is it not working? The value Americans see from their health care dollar is among the lowest in the world.

When the gov't is involved, anything becomes more expensive and less effective. Let the market dictate health care and you will see a vast improvement. But then we wouldn't need loving, caring liberals as much. That would reduce their hold on power. So they will fight anything that is good for us, if it means they might lose a bit of grip on their power trip.

If the Govt. did not want you on their plan the bill would not be imposing penalties on employer provided ( especially high end) HC plans; they would be encouraging and rewarding employers to provide HC by means of tax credits or other means. Same with HSA's. Obama Care punishes responsible behavior, not encourages it.

And by the way, I do not put all the blame on Obama; no way this clown or his administration could have written it in the time frame they had. It has been in the making for a long time, and Henry Waxman is one the original authors that has been tweeking it for 20 years. Guilt can be shared between Nancy, Harry an Barry for it's passing.
