I WORK FOR A LENNOX DEALER BUT LATELY WERE GETTING ALOT OF CALLS FROM UNHAPPY CUSTOMERS AFTER ANOTHER COMPANY HAS PERFORMED MAJOR REPAIRS.COMPRESSOR CHANGEOUTS ETC.MY QUESTION IS DID YORK INSTALL BI-FLOW LIQUID LINE DRIERS IN THE HOT GAS DISCHARGE OR DID SOMEONE SCREW UP?THE ONE IN THIS PICTURE HAD A HUGE PRESURE DROP ACROSS IT.38 deg.THIS IS THE 4TH TIME SENSE FEB THAT I'VE SEEN THIS.I REMEMBER COLEMAN TRIED IT WITH BAD RESULTS .http://img70.imageshack.us/img70/2840/1020354medium27nf.jpg

I have seen some kind of muffler there not a dryer the muffler is closer to the compressor though

BELIEVE IT OR NOT IT IS A BI-FLOW L.L DRIER.38 DEG TEMP DROP ACCROSS IT.MY SERVICE MANAGER SEEN IT TO.HE BET ME HIS PAY CHECK.THAT SUCKER STILL OWES ME.

Maybe they got the mufflers mixed up with the filter driers. Does the liquid line have a muffler on it?

I have found a few of those LL driers in the hot gas line too in the York heat pumps, Pkg & splits.
Haven't been bi-flow's though, just 303s &305s in the same scenario your speaking of,
The few I've come across couldn't tell for sure if it was the "crafty" previous contractor/tech or a factory f-up.
