Hello gentlemen, hopefully you can be of assistance to me.First let me list the equipment.

5 ton Carrier evaporator coil- cnrvt6024ataabaa
Originally internal 410a t x v, Converted to external r 22 t x v -4/5 tonnage-08`

Trane furnace-tuh2c100a9v4vaa-09`- all the literature I find says this should be a variable speed motor. But it is a standard 4 speed motor which is on the proper motor lead being the black wire for A/C.

4 ton trane condenser-2ttr2048a1000aa-05`

Now the symptoms- o/s ambient temp 85 I/s ambient temp 75. Charge:195/48 w/12 subcooling. Coil spotless and new filter. System is upflow in hallway closet, well sealed with plenty of return. Only getting 14 degrees temp split across system at coil.

I did this type of work 15 years ago, and I know for a fact I don't remember all of it. I did not do any of this work myself, it is in a house I just bought that supposedly passed inspection. Your input is greatly appreciated on a solution.

Thank you

what is your superheat? that furnace is a 4ton variable speed. if it has a 4 speed psc motor in it then it is wrong. what type of filter, how do you know the return is good? we need more numbers on the refrigerant side. i would say you charge is good.

my thoughts.

airflow problem(wrong motor, restrictive filter, poor ductwork)
mechanical problem with txv or clogged filter drier.

TUH2 definitely has a VS blower.

There is a black wire connected to the motor which powers it, but the speeds are selected via dip switches. Speed signals are sent to the motor via low voltage 16 pin harness.

What is your superheat??? Coil is running too cold for 75 EAT, I would bet you have high SH.

If someone hacked a PSC motor into it in place of the variable speed motor, did they also hack a different control board into it?
