a young Hispanic male called LAPD and said two young black men demanded money from him to buy lunch and when he refused he said they robbed his vehicle.
he gave exact descriptions of the robbers.

LAPD arrives on the scene confronts the two black men , and when one of them "reached for his waist band" the police shot and killed him.

the victim was 19 years old.

the victim was unarmed.

not only that, after being interrogated, the Hispanic guy admitted making up the whole story.

now that the LAPD is totally disgraced, they have charged the Hispanic guy with manslaughter.

My constitutional analysis:

i agree there should be some kind of penalty for this guy who made up the report, charging him with lying to police would be unconstitutional , because perjury only applies to court while under oath (despite what our government current claims)

he can't be Constitutionally charged with manslaughter, because he didn't kill anyone.

unfortunately, the focus needs to remain on the police.

i think it's time for the public to seriously consider passing gun control laws.
...laws that prevent the government and the police departments from carrying most kinds of weapons.

i leave this question for you to ponder,
why do you think the most common weapon for the police to carry , in the olden days, was a 6-shot small calibre .38?

Not true about the perjury charge. The charge is called, ”willfully giving false information to a peace officer”. I know because I got charged for it once. You don’t have to be under oath to get it.

I agree the focus needs to be on the police, too bad it won’t be. They have a scapegoat. But I have to give credit where credit is due. The LAPD is far more professional than the LA County Sheriffs. They would have beaten and then shot all three of them.

But I’ve always wondered about the saying “guns don’t kill, people do”. Well if that is so does it also apply to bombs?

No, Wolf was correct in his statement. Perjury is different than giving false information to a peace officer.

And yes, people not bombs. Does a spoon make fat people fat? :grin2:

When popo is around keep your hands out in open sight and dont make any sudden moves.

Homeboy reached for his waistband.....maybe to scratch....maybe not..... but he should have informed the cop before he did so.

Looks like suicide by cop to me.

Police in NY were made to go to sensitivity class after sticking a broomstick into some guy up there. Maybe if you need a class to tell you that might not be the way to go about "law enforcement" , you're too screwed up to be on the force in the first place. Hire decent cops, and alot of this mess will go away. Garbage in = garbage out.

Agreed... Cops, especially LAPD, are rightfully jumpy... Common sense means when two cops are questioning you about a robbery, you stay calm and still. I don't quite call it suicide by cop, but natural selection seems an appropriate cause of death...

The only time I ever felt threatened by LAPD is when I went to the Rainbow and had too much to drink and drove home to Orange County.

Im a law abiding citizen and have nothing to fear from the police.... But when I get pulled over by a cop......I have my window rolled down all the way and both my hands are where they can easily be seen.

When I reach for license and registration......I tell him exactly what I am doing and I do it slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwly.

I had a virginia state trooper come up alongside my van one time......hugging the side of the van with his pistol drawn...... I put both hands on the window opening.....

I asked why he did that and he said he could see me rustling around in the van. I was looking for my wallet......lol

Now... I just pull over.....roll down window......make hands visable and wait....very still.

I think it was maybe 10 years ago out in cali that the law shot up a car killing a woman inside. She was asleep in the car and a store owner or employee called the cops..... when the cops arrived they must have woke her and she made some sudden moves.......and they perforated her.

Amidou Dialo.... I think that was his name....... Cops told him to freeze....he reached for his wallet.....and the cops released the Kracken on him.

Cops dont shoot to wound. When they start shooting they will continue to hurl lead at you and into you until they are sure you are no longer a threat.....

Anyhow... with all these stories on the news about cops killing black guys for reaching for their wallet....or sneezing....etc...... that boy should have known to freeze solid.
