Went out this morning to seal all the duct connections with mastic and seal the supply boots to the cieling on this POS system.
Pulled the return duct off the unit and found this.
Surely its not "just" tape?

Didn't have anything on my truck to really fix this properly, so I cobbled some bits of metal onto the corners....

And pookied the crap out of it! It actually looked good once I got the insulation pulled up over it and strapped, lol.

Someone put a new coil in a couple of years ago, not us.
Good thing for "transition on a roll" when the new coil don't fit!

I guess when a RNC company is only paying thier installers <$8/hr, it is cheeper to have them hack up some sheet metal to make start collars than to spend $20 on real ones...
