Note the last paragraph about the effects on the unemployment number.
So who do you think benefits from this?
Oh, and Corny this is another one of my lies. And this I dedicate to you.

You can file for mental disability, keep your job, it is just an extra paycheck. Guys get somewhere around a thousand bucks or so a month doing this.
I have restrained from commenting on the matter in the past, but you brought it up.

The article seems to imply that this otherwise necessary system is being used for those running out of unemployment.
If a person has a real need for any of these 'help me through the bad times programs' then I'm all for it and have been for it. Don't mind my taxes going to that at all.
But I'm seeing that good hard working Americans are not able to find a job so out of desperation they are applying for this program just as a way to keep food on the table.
And who knows, some of us may be next.
But my point is Obama benefits from the folks that are falling off of unemployment numbers as he can brag that he is bring the number down.

It is also being abused by the employed. That was my point.
Not doubting it is being abused by the unemployed, worthy of a congressional investigation for sure. Some heads need to roll on this one.

My mother has diabetes, kidney failure, neuropathy, a couple of blown discs in her back as well as degenerative hip problems and is 67 years old....her doctor has repeatedly told her he can't get her on disability. This crap stinks. (did I mention she is still working as a clerk in a quick shop part time?)
