just saw where a kid called 911 twice, because his mom was passed out on the floor, and both times he was accused of placing a prank call by the dispatscher, who insisted he put an adult on the phone..........his mom died,i believe they said in NY........sad stuff all the way around.....i thought that no matter what 911 was suppose to dispatch help?

Feiger, he heard about this and even before he filed the motion he was out looking for anew Ferrari. :D.

Their toast. Time to pay up. Jeffery Feiger, he may be an a hole to mkost people, but if I was done worng in this sort of way, there is no doubt in my mind, I would call him. He has won a ton of cases. He is a very wealthy man.

Feiger probably killed the boy's mom and set all this up.

he is slimy enough.

On the basis of him being a litigator or rather arguing. They say he fry most people in any arguement. He is very skillfull. Most of the cases he wins, they would have been won anyway, but the fact of the matter is, he's always on top.

This will be interesting as the law in most states is that the government is under no obligation to provide you with police, fire or emergency medical transport services.

There is also similar federal code.

Ummmy Normy. I don't know about most states, but we pay for the 911 service here on our taxes and phone bills. That slightly makes them obligated and certainly in this case and in fact a city will lose there charter from the state if they don't provide those services. We are not talking about transporting. We are talking about first responders and they are obligated to do it or via a third party.

It does not matter how those services are supported what matters is how the law reads and how the courts have ruled in the past.

Here in Florida,if you hang up or whatever, someone's going to show up from the traced call. I thought that was everywhere.

Normy

There is no law that says if we hang up on you and you die, you're ******

that's really a sad story. i hope that dispatcher loses her job, faces negligence charges of some kind, and that kid gets a lot of money. not that it would replace his mom though.

the reason behind all of us and the money side of things is that it has universal value - not only in what it can provide us by purchasing material goods but its value as a measure of worth or a measurement of respect.

EG in this case a small boy lost his mother possibly due to a slow response from emergency services possibly not.

To get respect for the "mistake" made the lawyers go in to punnish the selected parties and extract a sum of money from them large enough so that they won't make the same mistake again.

I have seen overseas where in a nofault country the same mistake was made costing a woman her life - the athorities said they made a mistake - end of story no real punnishment occured - not enough to really sink home anyway.

So to get respect we are forced to sue parties for wrong doing otherwise they wouldn't take any notice of the little guy.

I think it was KTRH out of Houston. The dispatch was a black lady. She told the child not be playing on the phone. Cause there may be an officer come to your house, and you would be in a lot of trouble.

One early evening here in St. Paul, after stopping off to the local pub for a few, I drove home. Needed to make a call and hit 911 instead of 411 to get a number. I hung up right away and then redialed and got the number I wanted.

Within five or so minutes there were two cops at my door and they wanted in because of the call. I had nothing to hide so I talked to them inside my door to the kitchen. Luckily I was not inebriated or they could have seen my car in the driveway, touched the hood for warmth, and busted me for DWI. (It has happened here). They didn't leave till they saw the wife was ok. Scary.
